Week 5 - TuLo Git 2 Quit

Hey hey!

So, normally I try to do some kind of semi random introduction that leads us into things that went on in the matchups this week.  This week there were two things that made me alter my modus operandi, one of them is real, one of them is totally made up.  1) Playing a broke man's version of Adam Silver (Adam Bronze?) has already sucked up some of the roughly 309487 words that I devote to this blog on a weekly basis.  2) Troy Tulowitzki broke baseball this week.

OK...so I totally devote way more than 309487 words to this every week and, really, who has a word limit.  This is the fucking internet.  It never ever ends.  I can type on for days and days on end (maybe even randomly recreating MacBeth) and it doesnt even matter if Jerad ever reads it.

Therefore the answer is: Troy Tulowitzki broke baseball this week.  Last Thursday I broke down the leaderboards in each of our scoring categories and Tulo was in the top 8 on all but stolen bases, a category in which he was tied with me at 0.  Well, this week he continued the stolen base trend, but took the rest of his offensive game to Mach 22.  I am pretty sure if you were playing a video game and some player put up the numbers Tulo did this week, you would turn the game off and swear at it for being unrealistic.  Here are the numbers: .619 batting average, .692 on base percentage, 1.048 slugging percentage, 9 runs and 8 RBI.  To put that in some kind of historical perspective, the highest slg % in the non-Barry Bonds, non-Babe Ruth division is Lou Gehrig's .765 in 1927...and Gehrig hit 52 2bs, 18 3bs and 47 HRs that year...and Tulo slugged nearly .300 points HIGHER for the week.  Obviously, that screams SAMPLE SIZE!!!!!, but at this point Tulo is putting up a truely historic season.  The 400/500/730 slash line that he currently has is going to go down, and he is only a hunting accident away from a long DL stint, but Tulo's first month plus is up there with the greatest ever when it comes to stretches to start the season.

This week featured lone division matchups in both the Bone Thugs and Harmony divisions as well as 3 Crossroads matchups.
